Stay faithful

Dear Church family,

I was reading in Nehemiah 10:28-39 and the people renewed their commitment to the Lord.  The commited to follow God's law, not intermarry with the ungodly, and honor the Sabbath, tithes, and sacrifices.  "Neh 10:29-33  They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;  (30)  And that we would not give our daughters unto the people of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons:  (31)  And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.  (32)  Also we made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God;  (33)  For the shewbread, and for the continual meat offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God."   What a great reminder that even in the face of difficult circumstances to be faithful to God.  God is faithful, and will take care of us.  Even though we are gathering in our homes we can still pray, study the Bible, and give.

Praying For Our Leaders

Dear Church family,

I hope the Lord is blessing you and giving you grace to make it through today.  It is easy to feel cooped up.  I just want to remind you of the greatness of our God!  I read in Ps. 113 today "The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.  Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high, Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!"  What a thought - God is so great - He humbles Himself to look at angels!  And yet He became flesh - a servant - poor for our sakes.  Wow! God help me to be a servant today.

Something we like to do in our families is share a thought God taught us in our quiet time.  Just an idea that might be a blessing to your family or a friend as you share what God is doing in your life.

Today, please serve our country and each other by praying for one another.  Pray especially for our leaders that God will grant wisdom as they seek to save lives by slowing the spread of COVID-19 and balance the running of the country and economy.

God Bless,

Pastor

Regular On Campus Church Services Temporarily Suspended

Dear Church family,

In light of recent developments with the COVID-19 outbreak, we are temporarily suspending regular on campus church services from Wednesday, March 18th though Wednesday, April 1st.  The prayer and Bible study, youth group, and Kids4Truth scheduled for tonight (Wednesday, March 18) is cancelled.  We will be moving to online videobased services starting Sunday, March 22nd.  Details about our online services will be forthcoming in a couple of days.

We know these are times of great adjustment and fear.  We also know that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.  This is a tremendous opportunity to be a witness for Christ.  In all the confusion, so many people need the hope and peace found in Jesus.  A simple word or question to a neighbor, "How is the COVID-19 outbreak affecting your job and family?"  may open many opportunities to share Jesus.  Offer to pray with people, and for people.  Seek to be a blessing.  The prayer sheet will still be sent out later this afternoon.  Please take time to pray together tonight as a family for each other, our church, our nation, our leaders, and our world!

In Christ,

Pastor
